Q&A

What is Equine Massage?

Equine Massage is a form of hands-on therapy specifically for horses. This consists of various massage techniques done throughout each muscle on the horse's body. Massage not only helps with soreness and recovery but also improves range of motion, circulation, blood flow and so much more!

Why Choose Alyce at Top Tier Equine Massage?

Alyce brings years of hands-on experience and advanced training to every horse she works with. She is certified in Equine Sports Massage, Equine Muscular Rehabilitation, Equine Kinesiology Taping, and Equine Rehabilitation Therapy, and has over 6 years of experience working with performance and rehabilitation horses.

Her passion for performance horse rehabilitation started from a young age and only increased the more as she grew her education and business in the industry. What sets her apart from the rest is her ability to acknowledge each and every assessable muscle in the horse's body to ensure positive recovery and performance results.

With a strong foundation in anatomy, movement, and horsemanship, Alyce approaches each horse as a whole athlete — helping them feel better, move better, and perform at their best.

Recommend First Time Service.

Top Tier Equine offers a variety of services and packages, which can be overwhelming to choose from. For first-time clients, we recommend starting with Tier #1 from our Top Tier packages. This package includes a full assessment of your horse’s body and movement, a bodywork session, stretching, and owner homework. Tier #1 provides a solid baseline understanding of your horse’s physical condition while also giving you the knowledge and tools to continue supporting your horse’s well-being.

How often should I have my horse worked on?

When it comes to bodywork, consistency is key to seeing results! It takes anywhere from 3 to 5 massages to see results in recovery time, performance and overall health. I recommend bi-weekly appointments for maximum results, although each horse has different needs. Once a month or even weekly bodywork sessions may be needed. During each session, Alyce will do an overall evaluation to determine how often your horse needs massage.
